I am a health care provider and a patient of Dr. Burick. In my opinion health care has become increasingly impersonal and unresponsive to patients and their needs, leading to less time for personal interaction between the physician and the patient. It is very difficult for a physician to adequately serve the best interests of the patient during a 10 or 15 minute appointment. How can a physician possibly “catch up” with a patient in that amount of time before he or she hurries on to the next patient? I am pleased beyond all expectation with my care at the Burick Center. Dr. Burick and her staff KNOW me. I’m not a number sitting in a packed waiting room. When I call or e-mail them I get a prompt response, and gone are the days when I would leave a message that never got to the doctor. The staff is awesome. They have helped me with insurance reimbursement issues so I don’t feel like I'm all alone on that front. Prior to joining the Burick Center for Health and Wellness, I regularly saw my physicians for checkups as well as sick visits. Yet, my autoimmune illness was controlling my life – joint immobility, chronic pain, fatigue, weakness, weight gain, depression. We would fix a problem, and then another would worsen.
