What can I expect from my first visit?
Plan to be at the office for 2.5 hours for your initial appointment. Prior to your appointment, we will provide a patient contract for your review. Please bring this with you along with a check for your annual retainer. Upon coming to the office, an electronic chart will be created for you that will house all your medical information, history, etc. You will be asked to provide the names and contact information of any prior/current physicians so medical records can be requested if needed.
You can also come prepared for your visit with a list of medications, dosages, medical and surgical history, and family health history.
Upon completion of your history, you will undergo a physical exam which will include any necessary screening tests, EKG and Body Composition analysis.
After your first visit, you will receive a comprehensive analysis with recommendations.
Upon completion of the exam, Dr. Burick will provide you with any orders for labs, studies or tests as well as any referrals that may be needed. A follow up appointment will be made to see Dr. Burick before you leave the office.
How accessible are the doctors?
Dr. Burick and Dr. Rich are available 24/7. During office hours, the office number (717) 730-9000 should be used. After hours a non-emergent message can be left on that number to be handled the next business day. For emergent situations, calling the office number and pressing “1” will transfer the call to your physician’s cell phone.
